This summer, local businesses are putting fresh spins on hometown favorites with an exciting lineup of seasonal collaborations and limited-time pop-ups. From nostalgic cocktails inspired by iconic corner store treats to a custom-crafted beer celebrating one of the city’s favorite morning shows, these creative partnerships showcase the community spirit, local pride, and unmistakable flavor that define Philadelphia. Whether you’re looking to sip something new or experience a one-of-a-kind collaboration, 48 Record Bar, the high-tech listening room and cocktail bar located above Sassafras in Old City, and My Local Brew Works, Philadelphia’s premier nano-brewery specializing in contract brewing and events, are giving locals plenty of reasons to raise a glass this season.
PAPI STORE POP-UP
48 Record Bar is proud to announce their Papi Store Pop-Up, a celebratory limited-time menu that bridges two pillars of Philadelphia culture: the iconic Papi stores that anchor many Philadelphia neighborhoods and the vinyl record shops that soundtrack neighbors’ lives. Available through July 4th Weekend, this nostalgia-inspired menu reminds guests that American identity has always been shaped by the flavors, traditions, and people from around the world. Like the cocktails themselves, the American palate is a blend of influences that, together, define a shared sense of sentimentality. This limited-time menu pays tributes to corner store treats reimagined in a sippable form. Highlighting the sheer ingenuity of 48 Record Bar’s beverage program and the creative team behind it, including:
- Bacon, Egg, and Cheese: This savory cocktail offers the best of the ultimate corner store order, with bacon-washed Woodford Reserve, nutritional yeast, and sparkling egg yolk foam
- Little Hug: The cooler favorite is now 21+ and bursting with pineapple and passion fruit, softened by lush coconut cream and coconut milk, and brightened by bright citrus all on the base of Pa’lante Botanical rum
- Strawberry Shortcake: Ain’t your average Little Debbie’s. This grown-up treat in a glass features lacto-fermented strawberry, scarlet ibis, almond orgeat, malt, and lemon for a near-perfect boozy replica
- Salt & Vinegar: Silky olive oil-washed Stateside vodka, bright aromatized wine, and tangy potato shrub delivering savory depth, with a crisp, salty-vinegar snap.
- Dippin’ Dots: A playful collusion between ice cream parlor nostalgia and cocktail craft, built with Nolet’s Silver, Luxardo Bitter Bianco, Jacquin’s White Creme de Cacao, Vanilla, Lemon, and a side of Fruit Punch Oleo Powder to pour in and stir for the full effect
- Hot Chip:… And it doesn’t lie! With a spicy and smoky blend of Nixta Mexican corn liquor, El Jimador reposado, nutritional yeast, a habanero kick, and a sharp squeeze of lime, this hot chip-rimmed cocktail offers a crave-worthy finish
