June 30, 2021- The City of Brotherly Love is buzzing with the return of arts, entertainment, and live shows! We’ve gathered a few of the hottest in-person live shows, performance competitions, and drag shows to check out in Philly all summer long.

Devil’s Den, one of Philly’s best beer pubs, has one kick a** series of monthly drag shows planned, starting on Thursday, July 22 at 8pm. Drag Me to the Den will take place in the vibrant, expansive outdoor beer garden, with a different line-up of performances for each show. This July, expect show-stopping entertainment from Philadelphia’s best Drag Queens and Kings such as Hannibal Lickher, Sapphira Cristal, Kali Coutour, and Sir Donyx. Attendees will enjoy an evening of dancing, laughing, singing, and more, whilst sipping on Devil’s Den’s extensive selection of craft beer.

Franky Bradley’s, Mark Bee’s effervescent funk- and kitsch-filled nostalgic restaurant and bar in the heart of Center City’s Midtown Village, welcomes back live in-person performances at the well-known cabaret venue with Hope Strips Eternal, an extravagant burlesque show, on Thursday, July 1. The show will be hosted by Sophie Sucre and Flirt Vonnegut, with an opening set from Glitter and Garbage, and killer performances by Philadelphia’s iconic Drag Queens and Kings’ Hannibal Licker, Foxworth Vorn, and Jaeda Mei. Guests can look forward to a thrilling night chock-full of great entertainment, prizes, raffles, and drink specials. The show starts at 7:30pm, and tickets can be purchased here. 

Additionally, Franky Bradley’s is launching Snatcherella 3000, a nine-week performance competition every Wednesday, starting on Wednesday, July 21 at 8pm. A slew of up-and-coming Philadelphia-based performers will compete for the Snatcherella title with a cash price of $500. The acclaimed panel of judges, such as Eric Jaffe, Icon Ebony Fierce, Pi, Vinchelle, and The Moon Baby are some of Philly’s most well-known names in the LGBTQIA+ entertainment community. Alongside these judges, Snatcherella will also feature a guest judge each week with fun surprises throughout the evening.

MilkBoy Philly, the landmark locale of the iconic Philadelphia-born brand located in Center City, kicks off the return of live in-person shows at the famed music venue with the celebratory “Welcome Back” show on Friday, July 9 featuring performances by Humilitarian, Post Sex Nachos, and Pep Rally – led by Tommy Joyner, Co-Owner of MilkBoy. Doors open at 7pm, with the show starting promptly at 8:30pm. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 on the day of the show, and can be purchased here.  

An additional line-up of live shows has been scheduled at MilkBoy Philly through the end of the year, and into 2022. A sneak peek of upcoming live shows include: 

  • Tuesday, August 19 at 8pm: Clem Snide 
  • Thursday, August 12 at 8pm: Scott H. Biram 
  • Sunday, August 29 at 7:30pm: Rebirth Brass Band
