Char & Stave
Char & Stave, Bluebird Distilling’s coffee roastery and full-service café-by-day and cocktail bar-by-night, is inspired by the company’s ethos, “coffee made by whiskey people.” Owner Jared Adkins took his technical expertise from Bluebird Distilling to create Char & Stave’s flagship Four Grain Bourbon Barrel Aged Beans ($25), which are aged in brown spirit barrels used to make the acclaimed Bluebird Distilling Four Grain Bourbon. Coffee lovers can also pick up a bag of the café’s signature Everyday Blend ($18), a medium roast with notes of chocolate and candied fruit, or the seasonal Rumpkin Spice ($23), a fall blend aged in Bluebird Distilling Spiced Pumpkin Dark Rum barrels. These roasts and more are available now for online nationwide shipping and in-person at Char & Stave’s locations in Ardmore and Chestnut Hill.
Coffee lovers can head to Ardmore or Chestnut Hill to try Char & Stave’s roasts in-person. The robust beverage menu boasts a selection of classic and nouveau drinks spanning everything from traditionally brewed coffee to mocktails, such as the Barrel Aged Old Fashioned, as well as signature lattes like the Whiskey Smash Latte, along with a bevy of pastries and baked goods from local purveyors. A selection of signature cocktails and mocktails are available to enjoy throughout the day and into the evening, as Char & Stave’s transitional lounge seating transforms from a bright and airy coffee bar into a chic and alluring cocktail lounge.
