Consider the halls decked: Butcher Bar, the Rittenhouse hub for American comfort food, grilled fare, and an expansive brown spirits collection (located at 2034 Chestnut St) is excited to announce the launch of holiday pop-up, Yule Whiskey Lodge! Butcher Bar’s iconic Patio and Whiskey Garden spaces have been transformed into a winter wonderland — Guests are welcomed in to celebrate the official start of the holiday season in the cozy gathering space brimming with celebratory cocktails, festive fare, and plenty of cheer ideal for casual hangs between friends, date nights, holiday parties, and plenty of other spirited occasions.

The Yule Whiskey Lodge is adorned with plenty of holiday decor; including a cabin-esque scene of rocking chairs by a mantle christened with stockings and selfie-friendly mirror complete with reindeer antlers; perfectly wrapped gifts perched atop the bustling bar; pillows and blankets of red, white, and green cast across chairs and booths; crackling fireplaces, and more, evoking cozy holiday living room vibes. The Yule Whiskey Lodge also boasts its own holiday-centric food and beverage menu, including winter warmers like an original recipe for Mulled Wine that was passed down from Chef John Strain’s grandfather, a bevy of holiday cocktails including and bites including Bone Marrow Whiskey Luges, Bourbon and Cheese pairings, and even Shotskis, made using sweet Shanky’s Whip Liqueur and Bailey’s.

“I’m excited to share this menu because it contains my own family’s traditional German recipes, including my Opa’s recipe for mulled wine, and my mom’s recipe for Black Forest Cake – a cake so rich and time-consuming to prepare, that growing up she only made it for our birthday celebrations,” commented Chef John Strain. “It’s a joy to share my family’s holiday traditions with our guests.” (Opa is the German word for grandfather.)
