October 17, 2023 – Diners looking to twirl forks on National Pasta Day (Tuesday, October 17) and beyond have no shortage of options when choosing where to dig-in to a bowl of bolognese or a plate of penne. We’ve picked out some of the hottest and most exciting venues across the Greater Philadelphia region to enjoy premier pasta, including A Mano, At The Table, Butcher Bar, businesses along East Passyunk Avenue, Joseph’s Pizza Parlor, Patchwork, Red Owl Tavern, Panorama, Seaview Hotel, Stella of New Hope, The Twisted Tail, and Urban Farmer.


A Mano, the acclaimed seasonal Italian BYOB from the Townsend Wentz Restaurant Group (TWRG), is home to a bevy of pastas and other fine Italian fare made “by hand”. Standout dishes from Chef Wentz include Ricotta Cavatelli composed with broccoli rabe, lemon, and Pecorino Calabrese, Saffron Rotolo comprised of spinach, black olives, capers, anchovy, Ricotta, and puttanesca sauce, and Squid Ink Lumache Fruitti di Marre, a spicy combination of baby shrimp, calamari, mussels, and ‘nduja. All are available as part of a three-course or four-course prix fixe experience, as well as à la carte.

Hours of operation are Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 5 – 10pm, Friday and Saturday from 5 – 10:30pm. Closed Monday and Tuesday.

At The Table, Wayne’s venerable and award-winning fine-dining restaurant from chefs Alex Hardy and Tara Buzan-Hardy, has enticing pasta offerings for both à la carte and prix fixe dining experiences. The Squid Ink Bucatini ($40), made with a generous portion of lump crab, dressed in lemon alfredo cream sauce, and topped with chili butter, local mushrooms, and Parmesan, is available as a main course. The most recent Chef’s Six Course Tasting Menu also features Butternut Squash & Chanterelle Tortellini, comprised of butternut squash and Parmesan cream, capers, olive oil, fried sage, and black summer truffles.

Butcher Bar, the Rittenhouse hub for comfort food, an expansive brown spirits collection, and grilled fare that hearkens to the local butcher’s revered place in American culture, is also home to hearty pasta dishes including Cavatelli ($25), served with the locale’s housemade Italian sausage, cherry tomatoes, shrimp, asparagus, Calabrian chili, and roasted garlic parmesan chili sauce, Linguini and Meatballs ($23) served with roasted pork gravy and Pecorino Romano, and Smoked Gouda Mac n Cheese ($13), finished with a sweet potato crust (available for $6 during Happy Hour!).

Pasta lovers can indulge in these pasta dishes during dinner service: Monday through Wednesday 4 – 9 pm, Thursday 4 – 10 pm, Friday and Saturday 4 – 11 pm, and Sunday 4 – 8:30 pm. Happy Hour takes place Monday through Friday from 4 – 6:30 pm.

  • Linguini Vongole ($29): An exquisite dish featuring cockles, garlic, white wine, Calabrian chili, and parsley.
  • Spaghetti Puttanesca ($25): A classic favorite with Gaeta olives, garlic, anchovy, cherry tomato, white wine, and basil.
  • Rigatoni Carbonara ($27): A rich and creamy delight with guanciale, pecorino, peas, and a duck egg.
  • Penne Arrabbiata ($25): A spicy and flavorful combination of garlic, chili flake, basil, and Pomodoro sauce.

Inspired by cuisine from the Southern coast of Italy, Panorama’s fall menu also features several can’t-miss pasta dishes that can be found beyond pasta week:

  • Cavatelli ($27): A comforting dish with porcini mushrooms, cultured Italian butter, and shaved Parmigiano.
  • Gnocchi Pomodoro ($29): Homemade pillows of potato and ricotta gnocchi in a San Marzano tomato sauce.
  • Tortellini ($27): Spinach and ricotta filled pasta served with buffalo milk and Piennolo tomato sauce.

Red Owl Tavern, the contemporary kitchen and bar located across from Independence Hall in Old City, has just gone through a seasonal refresh of offerings and sports two premier pastas as part of their dinner menu. The Bolognese ($17/$25) is made with pappardelle and topped with whipped ricotta and basil crumbs is a more traditional dish, whereas the Cacio e Pepe ($14/$22) is influenced by Japanese cuisine and comprised of miso, ramen noodles, edamame, black pepper, and Parmesan.
