Townsend EPX, Chef Townsend Wentz’s French restaurant and bar on East Passyunk Avenue, invites Moms and their loved ones to celebrate Mother’s Day in style with a posh prix fixe menu priced at $55 per person, available from Friday, May 10 to Sunday, May 12.To start, the menu boasts first course offerings of Bay Scallops in Citronette with cherries, fennel, and Pernod, Foie Gras Mousse with hibiscus and pumpernickel, and Chilled Asparagus Bisque served with parmesan and amaranth; followed by second and main course offerings of Pan Seared Salmon complemented by sorrel vermouth cream, saffron risotto, and English peas, Marinated Lamb Sirloin with herb de province, spring vegetables, and sauce au poivre, and Potato Gnocchi, comprised of maitake, sun gold tomato, and stinging nettle foam; and a third and final course of a choice of Chocolate Soufflé topped with an amaretto anglaise, Coconut Pot de Cream, with almond and lime, and a Rhubarb Mille Feuille with lemon verbena diplomat cream.

WHERE TO BRUNCH ON MOTHER’S DAY WEEKEND

At The Table, Wayne’s venerable and award-winning fine-dining restaurant from chefs Alex Hardy and Tara Buzan-Hardy, is celebrating all mothers and maternal figures with an elegant Mother’s Day Brunch, priced at $70 per person on Sunday, May 12 from 11am – 3pm. The menu features three courses of elevated breakfast and lunch fare, along with complimentary wine spritzer and amuse bouche. Guests can enjoy selections including (but not limited to) Beet Cured Salmon Gravlax prepared with pumpernickel, caper cream cheese, beet pickled egg, fried capers, and pickled shallots, Steak & Eggs with salad frisée, beef tenderloin, sunny side up egg, béarnaise, and pommel frites, Crab Cake Benedict compromised of a jumbo lump cake, griddled English muffin, poached egg, lemon dill hollandaise, and potato hash, and desserts including French Toast Bread Pudding with crème anglaise and Strawberry Shortcake. Bolo, Chef Yun Fuentes’ Latin American dining room and rum bar nestled in bustling Rittenhouse Square, is expanding its popular Lechonera Sundays in honor of Mother’s Day with a special All Day Lechonera beginning at 11am on Sunday, May 12. All Day Lechonera ($45 per person) boasts a whole roasted pig served with traditional and seasonal accompaniments, with the option of substituting a whole roasted chicken instead of pork. All Day Lechonera will be the only menu available on Sunday, May 12 in addition to a selection of festive brunch dishes and the full seasonal bar menu.

Ocean Prime, the classic steak and seafood-forward modern American restaurant and lounge located in the heart of Center City Philadelphia, is opening its doors for Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday, May 12 beginning at 11am. Selections from this limited-time menu include cocktails such as a Citrus Rhubarb Mimosa with Giffard Rhubarbe, fresh orange juice, and dry curaçao, and a Tequila Sour comprised of Don Julio Reposado Tequila, Velvet Falernum, grapefruit & lime juice, and orange bitters, both of which are accompanied by Warm Cinnamon Bread with cream cheese icing. Entrées include Lobster Toast with avocado purée, pea shoots, and a sunny side up egg, Brioche French Toast with cinnamon sugar whipped mascarpone, sausage, and maple syrup, and Prime Steak & Egg comprised of a 6oz NY strip, poached egg, crispy potatoes, and citrus truffle vinaigrette.

Oloroso, Philadelphia’s premier Spanish tapas restaurant and sherry bar in the heart of Center City, is extending  its hours to bring back its very special buffet-style Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday, May 12. Priced $45 per person and $25 per child (tax + tip not included), foodies have access to an all-you-can-eat buffet, specialty drip coffee, a choice of one complimentary cocktail (sangria, mimosa, bloody mary, or a zero-proof beverage), and access to the restaurant’s à la carte selections of sherry, cocktails, porróns (wine pitchers) and wines by the glass. Urban Farmer, the modern American steakhouse located in the Logan Hotel known for its locally sourced ingredients and in-house butcher shop and mushroom program, is offering brunch and dinner specials in honor of Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 12. Guests are invited from 7am to 2pm to indulge in brunch specials such as Blackberry French Toast ($18) with brioche, blackberry mascarpone, blackberry conserva, blackberry meringue and mint, and Black Forest Pancakes ($16), chocolate pancakes served with black cherry compote, kirsch Chantilly and chocolate curls. For dinner, offered from 4pm to 10pm, specials include a Fritto Misto ($29) with calamari, shrimp, scallops, Calabrian Chile aioli and charred lemon, Lobster & Blue Crab Risotto ($50) with butter poached lobster, roasted sweet corn, confit tomatoes topped with brown butter crumbs and ramp oil, and Barolo Braised Short Rib ($57) with carrot puree, mushroom and Swiss chard fricassee, and saba. INTERACTIVE MOTHER’S DAY WEEKEND WORKSHOPS

Hyatt Centric Center City Philadelphia, the upscale lifestyle hotel nestled in bustling Rittenhouse Square, invites mothers and friends to a Mom + Me Jewelry-Making Workshop hosted by Philadelphia-based designer and owner of Feast JewelryAdrienne Manno. The beginner-level workshop includes jewelry-making materials and tools, as well as light refreshments (think tea sandwiches) and a complimentary mimosa flight from Hyatt Centric’s in-house restaurant, Patchwork. Attendees will receive hands-on guidance and assistance from Adrienne. There will be two workshops on Sunday, May 12 beginning at 1pm and 3:30pm. For $35 per person, guests are invited to Dock Street South for an in-person workshop, perfect for spending time with loved ones or friends while creating stunning floral arrangements.
