July 25, 2023 — The days are long, and the weather is warm — what better way to celebrate the summer season than with a refreshing libation in hand? We’ve collated a bevy of refreshing warm-weather libations to keep imbibers cool even during the hottest months of the year.   

Our friends at Art in the Age, Coopers’ Craft Bourbon, and The Pathfinder Hemp and Root have something for everyone – frozen treats (sorbet and ice cream), zero-proof mock-jitos, floral libations, and more – all perfect for stirring up at home for brunch, lunch (or any time of day). 

See below for a list of satisfying recipes perfect for stirring up throughout the summer season.

Lavender Negroni

Ingredients:   

  • 2 oz. Snug Harbor Gin infused with Plum & Lemongrass* 
  • 1 oz. Dolin dry vermouth  
  • .5 oz. Campari  
  • 3 droppers Lavender Lemon Balm bitters (Dram)   
  • 2 oz. Tonic (Top Note)  

Garnish: Dried Lavender Sprigs   

Glass: Tumbler  

Instructions: Build in glass and top with Tonic. Garnish with dried lavender clipped to glass. 

*Gin infused with Plum & Lemongrass: Combine 1 plum & 2 inches of lemongrass with 750ml gin.   

Let sit overnight, then strain.

Summer at the Grove

Ingredients:  

  • 2 oz. Coopers’ Craft Barrel Reserve 
  • 2 bar spoons Apricot syrup* 
  • 2 dash Bitters 
  • Grilled apricot 

Garnish: Orange twist
Glass: Rocks Glass 
Instructions: Grill apricot and muddle with bourbon. Strain into a rocks glass, add one cube of ice, bitters, syrup. Stir and serve. 

*Apricot Simple Syrup: 

  • 1 cup Apricot juice 
  • 1 cup Sugar

Frozen Boulevardier

Ingredients:  

  • 16 oz. Orange juice 
  • 8 oz. Rich simple syrup  
  • 3 oz. Water  
  • 1.5 oz. Coopers’ Craft Barrel Reserve 
  • 1 oz. Sweet vermouth  
  • 1 oz. Campari 

Garnish: Orange twist 
Glass: Coup 
Instructions: Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Pour into a sealed container and refrigerate for 24 hours. Pour mixture into an ice cream maker for about 45 minutes. Scoop finished sorbet back into a sealed container and store in the freezer for two hours. Scoop, garnish, serve.

Ruby Sunset

Ingredients:  

  • 1.5 oz. Coopers’ Craft Barrel Reserve 
  • .5 oz. Lime juice 
  • .5 oz. Lemon juice 
  • .75 oz. Ale 8 (ginger beer) cherry syrup* 
  • Egg white  

Garnish: Cherry 
Glass: Rocks 
Instructions: Shake egg white, add other ingredients and shake again, shake one final time with ice. Strain, garnish and serve. 

*ALE 8 CHERRY SYRUP 

  • 1 cup Cherry ginger beer 
  • 1 cup Sugar 

Instructions: Combine sugar, soda, and stir until dissolved about 2 mins on med heat. Stir until simmering, continue stirring for an additional 2 mins, then remove from heat. Allow to cool and enjoy.

Affogato 

Ingredients:  

  • The Pathfinder Hemp and Root  
  • Ice Cream 

Glass: Coupe 
Instructions: Pour Pathfinder over your favorite ice cream (Kraig Rovensky suggests vanilla bean!).

Summer Highball 

Ingredients:  

  • 2 oz. The Pathfinder Hemp and Root   
  • .5 oz. Lemon juice   
  • Top with seltzer   
  • Muddled cucumber and mint   

Garnish: Lemon wedge   
Glass: Highball 
Instructions: Serve over rocks in a drinking glass.

Pathfinder Cold Brew 

Ingredients:  

  • 1.5 oz. The Pathfinder Hemp and Root   
  • 6 oz. Cold brew coffee   
  • Cream and sugar     

Garnish: Orange peel 
Glass: Mug or drinking glass 
Instructions: Combine all ingredients and serve in mug or drinking glass
