27 June 2017 – Congratulations to our friends at Townsend on being honored as one of America’s 100 Best Wine Restaurants in the upcoming August issue of Wine Enthusiast. Every year the editors at Wine Enthusiast travel around the country looking for restaurants that provide charming, unexpected and just plain good wine and food experiences. Townsend is one of only three Pennsylvania restaurants to make the list, with only one other Philadelphia restaurant named to the prestigious list.
“The strengths of a focused list are evident here. The staff receives extensive weekly training on the 50-something wines that General Manager and Wine Director Lauren Harris chooses for their terroir expression and the winemakers’ stories. It pairs well with the intimacy of the dining room and Townsend Wentz’s take on French cuisine.”
“Right now, I find the world of wine exciting because people are more and more open. Guests care more about who’s making their wine and what the style represents. They’re steering away from big, bombastic alcohol bombs and enjoying more nuanced delicate expressions,” Harris said.
Congratulations again to arguably Philadelphia’s best culinary team!
