April 28, 2022 — Spring is in the air and in honor of the warmer weather and change in seasons, we’ve rounded up a bevy of spring cocktails that are fresh for the new season in the City of Brotherly Love at some killer locales, including Rex at The Royal, Forsythia, Patchwork, Royal Boucherie, and more.

New Liberty Distillery, the South Kensington craft distillery and home to award-winning spirit lines such as the revived heritage Kinsey brand, has crafted a unique and refreshing take on seasonal cocktails. Imbibers can enjoy spring sippers like the Beach Bum ($13), crafted with Dreadnought White Rum, Single Prop Coconut Rum, mango cordial, orgeat, lime, mint, and angostura bitters. Other seasonal tipples include the Miranda Indigo ($12), made with Snug Harbor Gin, dry vermouth, crème de violette, and a lemon twist, as well as the Highland Sushi ($12), composed of roasted sesame infused Kinsey Scotch, cucumber and honey ginger cordial, and lemon.

Art in the Age, Philadelphia’s one-of-a-kind tasting room, home bar supply and bottle shop, provides imbibers with a unique tasting experience and mouth-watering spring cocktails crafted by Jackie Nevin, including the Artichoke Old Fashioned ($13), created with Kinsey Bourbon, Cynar, orange oleo, and a few drops of Dashfire bay leaf bitters. Folks can also enjoy Art in the Age’s Butterfly Effect ($14) cocktail, comprised of butterfly pea infused tequila, Liberty Belle Crème de Violette, lime juice, aquafaba, a couple of dashes of Bittercube Bolivar bitters, topped with grapefruit soda. These designer cocktails and many more are available at the bar, as well as outside in the lush Cocktail Garden, during normal shop hours in addition to Golden Hour, where rotating specials are offered every Tuesday – Friday from 3 – 5pm.

Rex at The Royal, Philly’s sexiest new restaurant and destination for elevated Southern and Lowcountry cuisine, recently launched a spring cocktail menu featuring seasonally-apt sippers like the Le Fraîche Prince ($13), a mixture of gentian amaro, dry vermouth, Combier, blackberries, and basil served over crushed ice, along with the Deep South ($12) cocktail, crafted with rooibos tea infused vodka, lemon, and salted honey, and the Por Dio ($14) cocktail, crafted with Blanco tequila, carrot, turmeric, lime, and Galliano.

Red Owl Tavern, the contemporary kitchen and bar located across from Independence Hall, offers diners an opportunity to savor floral libations created by Lead Bartender Christopher Devern while taking in views of historic Independence Mall and scenic Old City.
