January 14, 2020 – Forsythia, Old City’s newest French restaurant helmed by Chef Christopher Kearse, was recently featured in Travel + Leisure, a leading authority on inspiring travel and lifestyle content. The article is titled “Philadelphia Is Having a Hotel and Restaurant Boom — From Suites in the Sky to a Hoagie Omakase” and details the most elegant locales Philly has to offer to dine, stay, or both.

Chef Kearse’s cuisine has been praised for its fresh takes on fundamental French concepts. “[Forsythia] takes cues from the French canon of classics, but with a welcome dose of whimsy,” writes author Katie Chang. “That means rillettes are blended with smoked trout, tuna collar (not trout) is prepared Amandine, and even kitchen staples like cornichons are beer battered and paired with paprika aioli for dipping.”

Forsythia has become one of the city’s most sought-after eateries, with features in Craig LaBans 2019 Dining Guide, Philadelphia Magazine’s 50 Best Restaurants, Eater’s Hottest New Restaurants, and The Best Restaurants in Philly from Thrillist.
