With the school year coming to a close, families are looking for an easy way to kick off summer, and dining out together is back on the calendar. Whether it’s a quick lunch between activities or a relaxed sit-down dinner, the Philadelphia area restaurants are offering plenty of approachable kids’ menus designed to make group dining seamless for all ages. Mecha Noodle Bar, the Fishtown noodle bar known for its modern takes on pho, ramen, and bao, brings its signature flavors to the next generation with a menu that pairs the restaurant’s Asian comfort food staples with familiar family favorites. Leading the lineup, the Kid KFC Bao ($7) pairs a crispy fried chicken cutlet with pillowy steamed bao buns and a side of fries. The Kid Cheeseburger Bao ($8) offers a similar approach, swapping in a beef patty topped with melted American cheese served with fries. The menu also features Dark Soy Noodles ($9), tossed in a sweet-and-savory soy sauce, Chibi Ramen ($10), Mecha’s take on classic chicken noodle soup, and Baby Pho ($10), featuring beef broth and rice noodles.

Red Owl Tavern, a modern kitchen and bar located just steps from Independence Hall in Old City, caters to children under 12 with a dedicated kids’ menu, encompassing a wide variety of options for the perfect family outing. Available until 11am, the breakfast menu includes the Two Eggs Breakfast ($12), served with eggs, potatoes, and bacon, with the option to substitute a side of fruit (+$4). For a sweet start to the day, the Pancake ($10) comes drizzled with maple syrup and butter. After 11am,  the menu expands to include a range of lunch and dinner options, each served with a choice of fries or a side salad. Options include crispy Chicken Tenders ($13), served with barbecue sauce or ketchup,  a Cheeseburger ($12)  featuring a 4-ounce black angus beef patty topped with American cheese, with pickles available upon request, Grilled Chicken ($12), and Kids Pasta ($10), which can be prepared with butter and Parmesan cheese or topped with Bolognese sauce.

Square 1682, the modern American upbeat kitchen located on the ground level of the Kimpton Hotel Palomar, welcomes younger guests with a diverse selection of breakfast and lunch specialties available from 7am-3pm. The breakfast menu highlights Kids Breakfast ($12), including two eggs, choice of toast, and potatoes or fruit, Single Pancake or French Toast ($6), which can be served plain, topped with fresh mixed berries, or sprinkled with chocolate chips (+$1), and a Fruit Cup ($4).

Stella of New Hope, Bucks County’s modern American restaurant located within the Ghost Light Inn and offering sweeping views of the Delaware River, offers a variety of kid-friendly favorites ideals for family weekend brunches. Available Fridays through Sunday from 11am-2pm, the children’s brunch menu features classics such as a Cheeseburger ($12) and Chicken Fingers ($12), both served with French fries. For a sweeter option, the Lemon Ricotta Pancake ($10) is topped with pure maple syrup, powdered sugar, and whipped butter, and can be customized with blueberries, strawberries, or both.
