This January, America’s number one imported German pilsner, Bitburger is proud to stand out as a top choice for imbibers looking for a delicious premium and easy drinking beer without alcohol. Whether forgoing alcohol entirely, sober curious or zebra striping imbibing, Bitburger 0.0 is the perfect beverage to have behind the bar, in the fridge, on the menu, and in one’s hand this season.
Thoughtful imbibers can put Bitburger 0.0 to the test with a timeless NA beer cocktail recipe that stays refreshing whether mixed for mindful imbibing this January, or to welcome warmer weather mid-way through 2026.
Enter the Spaetzle 0.0, Bitburger’s answer to the popular beer-based spritz cocktail written up in Business Insider, Bon Appétit, Food & Wine, and more — perfected in N/A form with Bitburger 0.0’s de-alcoholized beer base that doesn’t budge on flavor.
Enjoy Bitburger’s Spaetzle 0.0 recipe below this new year and beyond, developed by Christopher Devern (Red Owl Tavern at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia):
Ingredients
- 16.9oz can of Bitburger 0.0
- 1.5oz-2oz of a citrus-forward, mildly bitter non-alcoholic amaro
- 2 lemon wedges
Instruction
Use a can opener to remove the top of the Bitburger 0.0 beer can (optional). Take a hearty swig from your Bitburger 0.0, and add in 1.5oz-2oz of your favorite non-alcoholic amaro — Christopher Devern suggests Lyre’s Non-Alcoholic Italian Spritz Amaro. Finish your Spaetzle 0.0 off with a squeeze of lemon, give it a stir, and garnish with a vibrant lemon wedge.

While the beer category is down overall as Gen Z drinkers reach for low- and no-alc options, Bitburger continues to expand its U.S. presence with signature Bitburger Premium Pils (ringing it at just 4.8%) and de-alcoholized Bitburger 0.0. Despite drinking less overall, Gen Z consumers are more selective than ever, seeking authenticity, craftsmanship, and identity in the brands they choose. Bitburger delivers on all fronts. The de-alcoholized Bitburger 0.0 is brewed with the exact same care, precision, and passion that has defined the Bitburger craft for generations, ensuring the same quality and drinking experience in an entirely alcohol-free product.
“We’re thrilled to see more and more people across the country enjoying Bitburger 0.0., and recognize several factors contributing to our success,” says Scott Baver, Bitburger USA. “There’s an undeniable movement in the industry to cleaner more traditional beers such as a premium German Pilsner and 0.0, as the no-alc space is one of the fastest growing segments in the beverage industry.”
Brewed in strict accordance with the German Beer Purity Law — or Reinheitsgebot — Bitburger Pils (4.8% ABV) is a light straw-colored pilsner with a lasting foam head. The beer has earthy notes with a nutty and honeyed aftertaste, finishing dry with a pleasant bitterness, showcasing the beer’s proprietary hop blend, Siegelhopfen, grown 30 miles from the brewery. Bitburger 0.0 then goes through a precise dealcoholization, retaining all of the flavor without an ABV of 0. Currently available in six-pack bottles (11.2oz), four-pack cans (16.9oz), and 12-pack bottles (11.2oz), the roll-out of Bitburger Pilsner in 12-pack cans this April will replace the 12-pack bottle packaging in the United States as part of a greater sustainability strategy for the brewery.
Bitburger launched a 12-pack in 2025 in markets across the United States to compliment six packs and cases. Bitburger is widely available on menus in top restaurants and bars in many cities and will have a greater presence going into 2026 for both Bitburger Premium Pils as well Bitburger 0.0.
