Tamworth Distilling, rural New Hampshire’s wilderness to bottle distillery, is serving up Thanksgiving (quite literally) in a bottle with their latest non-vegan whiskey release, House of Tamworth Bird of Courage. The roasted turkey flavored whiskey is limited-edition and birthed from a barrel of 5-year-old Bottled in Bond Whiskey steeped with a (mostly) historically accurate and quintessential New England Thanksgiving dinner.

Distiller Matt Power utilized ingredients present at the first thanksgiving 400 years ago such as flint corn and kabocha squash from a local farm, apples and cranberries foraged from local trees and wild cranberry plants near the distillery, and fresh sage plucked from distillery’s garden. This incredible attention to detail resulted in a cornucopia of festive fall flavors that truly brings the complex nuances of the bourbon aflight. The essence of roasted sweet potato and squash combine with the buttery heart of fresh baked flint cornbread to fortify this whiskey’s deep oaky spirit. A mid-palate of sweet New England apples and herbs support the ethereal aromas of freshly roasted turkeys sourced from historical Behr Farm in Tamworth NH. As for the name? We have Benjamin Franklin to thank for that!

Bird of Courage (92 proof, $65/200ML) is available for pre-sale now in limited quantities from Tamworth Distilling in New Hampshire and at Philadelphia’s Art in the Age, it will be available for in-person sales at those locations 11/6 as well as nationally online through www.seelbachs.com.

A friendsgiving dinner complete with a bottle of Bird of Courage will also be raffled off with 100% of proceeds benefitting the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) in support of their dedication to the conservation of the wild turkey as well as sustainable hunting practices.

If you’re like us and believe Thanksgiving leftovers are equally, if not more, exciting than the grand holiday meal – you’re in for one sweet [and boozy] treat thanks to Brown-Forman’s newest bourbon brand in twenty years, Coopers’ Craft Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Is there anything better than leftover pumpkin pie? YES, Coopers’ Craft Mixologist, Fitz Bailey’s Pumpkin Pie Bourbon Milkshake recipe.

Put those extra slices of pumpkin pie to good use this year and whip up a Pumpkin Pie Bourbon Milkshake — perfect for sipping post-Thanksgiving dinner, or the day after with leftovers. All that’s needed is vanilla ice cream, a slice of pumpkin pie and Coopers’ Craft Bourbon — add bourbon whipped cream for some extra autumnal flare.
