My Local Brew Works
My Local Brew Works (MLBW), the world’s first custom craft brewery focused on special events and contract brewing, offers a unique gift for beer-loving Dads with their Custom Craft Brewing package. Father figures will join Tim Montague and Wayne Humphrey, two award-winning local home brewers and founders of My Local Brew Works, as well as George Hummel, brewing mentor and grain master, in the brewery (situated in the industrial-chic Globe Dye Works building), for a day filled with beer tastings, food, and more.
With guidance by the My Local Brew Works team, guests are involved throughout the entire process – from choosing the grain to designing the name and label – and have the liberty of choosing the hops, malt, yeast, and every other aspect of their custom brew. Folks will also be treated to food from a nearby restaurant on behalf of the My Local Brew Works team, and will be offered a guided tour of the brewery facility.
Pricing for a Custom Brew Day varies based on a number of factors including volume of beer brewed, fermentation time, and ingredients, but starts at $120 per person. Custom brews range from $90 – $140 per case, depending on labels, ingredients, styles, and other variables. UrbanFarmer, the modern American steakhouse located in the Logan Hotel known for its locally sourced ingredients and in-house butcher shop and mushroom program, is offering brunch and dinner specials in honor of Father’s Day on Sunday, June 15. From 7am to 2pm, guests are invited to indulge in brunch specials such as the Crab Deviled Eggs ($18) made with jumbo lump Maryland blue crab, and the Piedmontese Steak and Eggs ($34) served with a 6oz flat iron, potato galette, tomato compose, beef jus, and choice of toast.
For dinner, offered from 4pm to 10pm, specials include a Porterhouse ($88), a 24 oz pasture-raised, corn-finished cut from Vineland Farm, and the Duroc Pork Tomahawk ($48), an 18oz cut served with heirloom baked beans, braised greens and pork jus. As a side, Urban Farmer is offering a Potato Galette ($15) with horseradish sour cream and tomato compote. Available during both brunch and dinner, guests can indulge in the Dry Aged Burger ($28), an 8oz patty dry aged in house, served on a brioche bun with caramelized balsamic onions, Boston lettuce, black garlic aioli, gruyere cheese, and choice of farm fries or a field greens salad.
