Cake Life Bake Shop, Philadelphia’s award-winning small-batch artisanal bakery and all-day café, is thrilled to announce the return of its holiday menu, loaded with confections sure to get even the grinchiest partygoers into the holiday spirit. From gifting, to office parties, family celebrations, and beyond, the Fishtown bakery has Philadelphians covered for every occasion with its holiday menu, chock-full of over-the-top cookie boxes of gingerbread people, buttery shortbread, or Petal-Pistachio Cookies; seasonally flavored cakes (think: brand-new Peppermint Patty Cakeand vegan Chocolate-Orange Cake); and more.

Preorders can be made on Cake Life Bake Shop’s website from Wednesday, December 4 through Sunday, December 29 with pick-up and delivery available. Customers can also find many of these treats in-store available for walk-in purchase (1306 Frankford Ave) while supplies last.

Jansen, Mt. Airy’s contemporary and award-winning New American restaurant by Chef David Jansen, presents an indulgent Take-and-Bake Beef Wellington just in time for the holidays. The package includes a 14oz Beef Wellington, Prosciutto-wrapped Asparagus, Gruyere potato cakes, and Natural Beef Jus, fit to feed two people and is priced at $150. Guests can elevate their meal with an optional seafood medley featuring oysters, shrimp, lobster, and crab for an additional $120.

Red Owl Tavern, the contemporary kitchen and bar located across from Independence Hall in Old City, is making holiday hosting a breeze with Owl-idays Bake Shop, a limited-time pop-up offering festive pastries, cookies, and pies to celebrate the season. Now, through Christmas Eve, December 24, Executive Chef Charles Vogt and his pastry team will offer a selection of made-to-order treats featuring an assortment of pastries (available by the half-dozen) including Chocolate Croissants ($32/$60), Butter Croissants ($30/$55), Pumpkin Danish ($32/$60), and Almond Croissants ($34/$64); freshly-baked cookies (served by the dozen; $30) including Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin, Sugar, and Lemon; and both sweet and savory pies including: 

  • Apple Crisp ($28) —Solebury Orchard apples, oat streusel
  • Lemon Meringue ($28) — Lemon curd, toasted meringue
  • Sweet Potato ($28) — Roasted Pennsylvania sweet potatoes, vanilla whipped cream

CHRISTMAS DINE-IN AND TAKEAWAY

Square 1682, the modern American restaurant and award-winning bar at 17th and Sansom Streets, is spreading holiday cheer with a festivedine-in Christmas menu that showcases seasonal ingredients and inventive flavors. Guests are welcomed with warm dinner rolls served with Pennsylvania maple syrup and cinnamon butter, setting the tone for a holiday feast. Small plates include Havarti Cheese Arancini with sauce arrabiata, Polish Pickle Soup, Deviled Eggs topped with trout caviar and dill, and Octopus. The menu continues with a variety of sides, such as Roasted Squash with crème fraîche, pomegranate seeds, and chili crisp; Garlic Whipped Potatoes;Crispy Baby Potatoes with sherry vinegar and herbs; and Polish Cucumber Salad with dill, crema, and crispy shallots.

For the main course, guests can choose from elegant options like Duck Breast à l’Orange with roasted carrots, Prime Rib with crispy onions and jus, Thai Fried Red Snapper with Vogt sauce and lime, or a rich Mushroom Risotto with winter truffles. To conclude the meal, dessert offerings include Christmas Cookie Ice Cream and a classic Crème Brûlée.

Additionally, Square 1682 is offering a Christmas Dinner To-Go, featuring Herb-Crusted Short Ribs, Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Brown Butter Delicate Squash, Baked Mac & Cheese, Sautéed Green Beans + Roasted Potatoes with mustard vinaigrette, and John’s Chocolate Cake. Guests can also opt to add a 1/2 Roasted Duck à l’Orange for $45. Meals are priced at $80 for two and include reheating instructions.

Urban Farmer Philadelphia, the rural-chic farm-to-table steakhouse located in historic Logan Square, is offering a selection of holiday specials from Executive Chef Sonny Ingui in addition to its à la carte menu, available on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Guests can enjoy highlights such as the Pennsylvania Ham ($34) with grain mustard pork jus, 1855 Beef Ribeye ($53) with glaze de viance and horseradish cream, or a slice of Bourbon Pecan Pie ($12) served with cardamom spiced chantilly cream.
