For all of June’s festivities, from Philadelphia Pride, to binge-watching classic LGBTQIA+ movies, to post-drag show snacking, the trans-owned Fishtown bakery will be serving up queer joy with a side of rainbow cookies, cupcakes, marshmallows, lollipops, cakes, and more! The Fishtown bakery’s Pride menu is available for pick-up and delivery – customers can pre-order online now. Orders must be completed by 2pm four days prior to the desired pick-up or delivery date.
Celebrating Pride Month in Philadelphia wouldn’t be complete without handmade treats from one of the city’s most beloved trans-owned bakeries. All month long, guests can support this queer-owned business by ordering Pride Sugar Cookies, dusted in colorful, rainbow sprinkles, Fiesta Cupcakes, available in Funfetti, Red Velvet, or Chocolate Cake, each topped with cream cheese frosting, rainbow sprinkles, and a cherry, and Pride Shortbread Sleeves, a 10-pack of buttery, colorful, and indulgent cookies.
“Baking naturally overlaps with the queer experience,” Nima Etemadi, Co-Owner of Cake Life Bake Shop, said. “It creates a special and unique space for queer expression, one that is informed by infinite layers of hardships, triumphs, pain, love, and pride. Every month, but especially in June, we invite our community to the table to share, taste, and heal – with cake.”
