November 13, 2020 – Thanksgiving is fast approaching and so is the stress that comes along with cooking a traditional turkey dinner at home — not to mention the added COVID concerns this year.  
The below restaurants and bars are taking the hassle and fuss out of Thanksgiving by offering guests a variety of dining out alternatives, from traditional turkey dinner prix-fixe menus, pie and cordial pairings, wine to-go, and more! 


Urban Farmer, Logan Square’s modern American steakhouse, is offering its coveted Thanksgiving to-go menu again this year, boasting a full spread of holiday favorites such as a 12-14 pound turkey, house-made cranberry sauce, red bliss smashed potatoes, house-made gravy, guests’ choice of pumpkin, apple or pecan pie, and more. Urban Farmer’s Thanksgiving to-go package is available for pre-order now here for $180 and serves 4-6 people. All orders can be picked up on Thanksgiving Day from 12-3 pm.
In addition to its take-out menu,  Urban Farmer is offering a three-course plated Thanksgiving dinner from 4 – 9 pm on Thursday, November 26. The prix fixe dinner from Executive Chef Sonny Ingui is $85/person and includes diner’s choice of starter, entrée, including Pennsylvania Raised Turkey, Skuna Bay Salmon, 1855 Farms Prime Rib, Mushroom Risotto or Stuffed Pork Loin; and, for dessert, guests can choose between Classic Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Bourbon Cheesecake or Chocolate Pecan Tart. Sides include Cornbread Turkey Stuffing, Red Bliss Mashed Potatoes, and more. Urban Farmer will also be offering their delicious à la carte brunch on Thanksgiving Day from 9 am – 1 pm, which includes specialties such as Short Rib Hash, Steak Frites, Pancakes, among other treats. Fond, the acclaimed contemporary American restaurant on East Passyunk Avenue, is offering a decadent Thanksgiving spread to-go for those uninterested in spending ample time in the kitchen this holiday. Guests can choose from  Turkey, two ways with gravy , Chestnut Rosemary Potato Filling Orange Cranberry Sauce White Miso Butterscotch Sweet Potatoes and  Frisee Salad . Additionally, guests can enjoy desserts from Chef Jessie Prawlucki-Styer, including  Brown Butter Apple Pie Maple Pecan Pie Butterscotch Pumpkin Pie and  Chocolate Cheesecake . The Twisted Tail, Headhouse Square’s Southern-inspired restaurant, bar and live music venue, is taking away the stress of cooking this holiday with  two Thanksgiving to-go options , including: a Whole Roasted Lancaster Turkey (12-15lbs) for $160 or a full Thanksgiving spread, including guest’s choice of protein (Roasted Lancaster Turkey, Herb Crusted Prime Rib, Raised Short Rib, etc.) with an array of available sides for $300. The Society Hill Southern-inspired restaurant and bar isalso  offering a safe alternative for those not interested in spending hours in the kitchen on Thanksgiving. From 12-9 pm on November 26, The Twisted Tail will offer a prix-fixe meal ($49/person, $25/child under 10) with guest’s choice of entrée, including Roasted Lancaster Turkey, Braised Short Rib, Pineapple Glazed Ham, Herb Crusted Prime Rib or Honey-BBQ Glazed Salmon, plus a bevy of sides served family style. Rex 1516, Philadelphia’s go-to for elevated Southern cuisine, is offering Thanksgiving dinner to-go for two ($120) and four ($230), including Buttermilk Biscuits, Chanterelle & Green Bean Strudel, Smoked Brisket Shells & Cheese, Andouille & Cornbread Stuffing, Smoked Turkey Roulade, and Sweet Potato Pie. Beverage offerings from Beverage Manager Alex Tack, include an Aperitif with London Dry Gin, bonded apple brandy, dry vermouth, curried lemon, mint as well as a Digestif with Laphroaig Scotch and other fresh ingredients. For those quarantining down the shore or celebrating the holiday seaside,  Seaview , A Dolce Hotel, the New Jersey Shore’s quintessential resort, is offering a  deluxe Thanksgiving to-go package , including a whole 14-16 pound turkey breast with gravy and cranberry sauce, one quart each of roasted garlic mashed potatoes, whipped sweet potatoes, an apple and pumpkin pie, and more. Seaview’s expansive spread serves 6-8 people for $250. Orders can be placed now by calling 609-652-1800. All orders must be placed by Friday, November 20 and can be picked up on Wednesday, November 25 between 11 am and 9 pm.  

Seaview is also offering a sit-down five-course Thanksgiving dinner from 11 am – 4 pm on Thursday, November 26, including available options of Citrus Poached Shrimp, Spiced Butternut Squash, Carved Turkey Breast, Sliced Honey Baked Ham, Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and Freshly Baked Rolls & Butter, with a slice of warm apple, cherry or pumpkin pie served à la mode to fininsh. Art in the Age, Old City’s one-of-a-kind tasting room, home bar supply and bottle shop, is teaming up with Philadelphia’s famous  Isgro Pastries to ensure every Thanksgiving table is sweet and spirited this holiday with a cordial and pie combo. Guests can choose between three options, including:
