November 1, 2019 – Red Owl Tavern is bringing back its popular Month of 1000 Pies for the fifth year in a row with all proceeds benefitting Philabundance, from Friday, November 1 through November 30.
At the end of the month, the Old City restaurant on Independence Mall will donate the equivalent of a pie for every pie sold to Philabundance, the local nonprofit devoted to driving hunger from Philadelphia and Delaware Valley region.
Freshly baked Cranberry-Apple Streusel and Pumpkin Pies are accessibly priced at $12 each or two for $20. Philadelphians can order pies in advance by calling Red Owl Tavern or pick up pies at the Grab ‘N’ Go in the front of the restaurant.
“This rewarding holiday tradition at Red Owl Tavern is something I am proud to continue,” said new Red Owl Tavern Executive Chef Jonathan Dearden. “I cannot wait to contribute to this program and help more people who are hungry and in need at this otherwise warm and wonderful time of year.”
A one-dollar donation to Philabundance provides two meals for those in need, meaning for each pie sold, 24 people will be able to enjoy a meal of their own.
Guests can call Red Owl Tavern at 215-923-2267 to place an order or come into the restaurant and pick up pies at the Grab ‘N’ Go.
