March 27, 2018 – March is quickly drawing to a close and with the dawn of warmer temperatures promised, another high note is National Whiskey Day, celebrated Tuesday, March 27 with a bevy of dark spirit happenings around town. Here are a few of note:

Ocean Prime

The stunning steakhouse and seafood restaurant just west of Broad is pulling out the stops for National Whiskey Day with four days of high-end fun. Whiskey lovers who also want to sink their teeth into an amazing steak will enjoy Chef Jenn Grosskruger Cowboy Ribeye paired with a Stave of High West Whiskeys for $120. Stave will include High West Campfire, Rendezvous Rye and American Prairie Bourbon.

The Twisted Tail

Philadelphia’s Southern-inspired bar, restaurant and live-music venue on Headhouse Square has one of the best whiskey selections in the city. On Tuesday, March 27, Owner and whiskey expert George Reilly is offering guests $5 bartender’s creation whiskey cocktails for “social hour” — The Twisted Tail’s version of happy hour, from 5pm-7pm. Additionally guests will enjoy a $1 discount per ounce on all bourbon club whiskies for bourbon club members (free to join all day).

Square 1682

The swanky bar and restaurant adjacent to Hotel Palomar in Rittenhouse is celebrating National Whiskey Day this Tuesday, March 27, when Lead Bartender Daniel Kulisek goes deep and offers all —  yes all — of his popular whiskey-based cocktails for just $12 all night. Popular Square 1682 cocktails discounted for the day include Beast of Bourbon with Bulleit Bourbon, lemon, Q ginger beer, Von Humbolt Tumeric Liqueur; Wild One with Tim Cup Whiskey, raw sugar, Mitghty Leaf Ginger Twist hot tea, and Fernet Cocktail, with Templeton Rye, raw sugar Angostura bitter and served up.
