Forsythia, Old City’s contemporary French bar and restaurant helmed by Chef Christopher Kearse, is contributing to the already bountiful weekend brunch menu with a few festive dishes curated by Chef Kearse. Additionally, imbibers can look forward to a special, morning-inspired libation in celebration of the holiday dubbed Bacon, Eggs, and Toast, composed of bacon-washed bourbon, brioche honey, soft meringue, and coffee.

Holy ‘Que Smokehouse, the Bucks County BYOB serving authentic Texas-style barbecue, has the perfect gift for fathers and meat-lovers alike with “Let’s Get Smoked: The Ins and Outs of BBQ” classes. Sessions are available on Sunday, June 26 and Sunday, July 10 from 3pm – 5pm. Participating fathers will receive a “cameo-like” video from Pitmaster Tom Peters on Father’s Day, letting them know about the gift. Purchasers will be contacted prior to Father’s Day to help personalize their video.

Classes are $250 per person. Participants will learn how to choose the right meat and how to trim it, how to create their own seasoning and how season meat with it properly, and the smoking process from fire management to pulling the meat at the right time. Those interested in purchasing a class can do so by emailing tom@holyque.com or calling the restaurant directly.

Those interested in giving dad the gift of ready-to-eat barbecue on Father’s Day are encouraged to order ahead or arrive early, as it is available in limited quantities, for pick-up only.

New Liberty Distillery, South Kensington’s craft distillery and home to award-winning spirit lines such as the revived heritage Kinsey brand, is offering the ultimate Father’s Day gift with hands-on behind the scenes tours on Sunday, June 19. Guests will have the opportunity explore the whiskey-making process from distilling to aging, including custom whiskey tastings. Five tour timeslots are available, with the first starting at 12pm.

Standard tickets are $35 per person and include a customized whiskey tasting, tour of the New Liberty copper pot still, and a look (and taste) of the barrel aging process. Full experience tickets are $70 per person and also include a full-size bottle of Kinsey with a custom label.

Urban Farmer, Logan Square’s modern American steakhouse, has two tantalizing dishes prepared for Father’s Day weekend, courtesy of Executive Chef Sunny Ingui. Diners can treat dad to either a 24 oz 1855 Porterhouse Steak ($65) or the 7x Wagyu Burger ($26) topped with caramelized onions, oil-cured tomato, gruyère, and housemade beef bacon.

These specials will be available all Father’s Day weekend starting at 4pm on Friday, June 17. Please note that Urban Farmer will only be open for brunch on Father’s Day (Sunday, June 19).
