FALL COCKTAILS + SPIRITS FOR SIPPING IN PHILADELPHIA:
Fond, Chef Lee Styer’s acclaimed French-focused restaurant on East Passyunk Avenue, boasts a pumpkin-centric tasty tipple ideal for sipping all autumn long whilst taking in sights of falling leaves surrounding the Singing Fountain. The expert in-house mixologists created Pumpkin Flip ($14) crafted with pumpkin purée, rum, cognac, maple syrup, a whole egg and evaporated milk.

In addition to autumnal libations, Chef Styer offers an ever-evolving menu of seasonal, rich in flavor, French-inspired dishes.

Forsythia, Old City’s modern French bar and restaurant helmed by Chef Christopher Kearse, has executed one sexy and sophisticated, autumnal-inspired cocktail this season, featuring the Smoking Carrot ($14), composed of mezcal, carrot, turmeric cordial, and lemon. This root vegetable-focused tipple — crafted by General Manager Jennifer Camela — pairs perfectly with an array of brand-new, artfully crafted French plates on the ever-evolving dinner menu.

Stratus Rooftop Longe, the swanky rooftop venue on the 11th floor of the Kimpton Hotel Monaco in Old City, and Lead Bartender Christopher Devern have crafted a cozy, fall-focused libation for folks to enjoy in the recently renovated, modern al fresco venue.

The Butterscotch Old Fashioned ($15) is infused with a brown-buttered scotch, molasses syrup, angostura bitters, Amaro and garnished with sage – ideal for sipping atop the outdoor, breezy venue. AUTUMNAL COCKTAIL RECIPES TO CRAFT AT-HOME THIS SEASON:

Art in the Age, Old City’s one-of-a-kind tasting room, home bar supply and bottle shop, offers unique, wilderness-to-table spirits from New Hampshire craft distillery Tamworth Distilling, and boasts a flavorful, fall-forward cocktail recipe: Elkhound, crafted using Tamworth Distilling Aquavit Skiklubben.

Aquavit, a traditional Scandinavian spirit distilled with caraway, cardamom, star anise, and pink peppercorn, shines not only in the Elkhound, but also adds a welcome Nordic twist to a classic Manhattan.

Ingredients 

 

Instructions to make Elkhound: 

Add all liquids to a mixing pitcher with ice and stir until chilled. Strain into glass.

Glassware: Brandy snifter with whiskey stone

Garnish: Rosemary sprig
Ingredients to make Maple Simple Syrup:

  • Runamok Rye Whiskey Barrel-Aged Maple
  • Warm water

 

Instructions to make Maple Simple Syrup: 

Combine 1-part Runamok Rye Whiskey Barrel-Aged Maple to ½ part warm water. Mix until combined.

Coopers’ Craft Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Brown-Forman’s newest bourbon in twenty years, is a versatile and light bodied bourbon that can be used to make a variety of unique craft cocktails such as this fall themed specialty drink. Pumpkin Pie Milkshake is the perfect alternative to pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving as well as an ideal day-after treat made with Thanksgiving leftovers.

Pumpkin Pie Milkshake

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. vanilla ice cream
  • 1 slice of pumpkin pie
  • 5 oz Coopers’ Craft Bourbon 82.2 proof
  • Coopers’ Craft Bourbon Whipped Cream

 

Instructions:

Add ice cream, bourbon and slice of pie to a blender; blend until smooth and pour into desired glass; garnish and serve.

 

Ingredients to make Coopers’ Craft Whipped Cream:

  • 8 oz heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsppowdered sugar
  • .5 oz Coopers’ Craft Bourbon

 

Instructions to make Coopers’ Craft Whipped Cream:

Add powdered sugar to a chilled bowl, pour in heavy cream, beat with beater until peaks form, slowly add Coopers’ Craft Bourbon and continue beating for 30 seconds.

Glassware: Libbey glass

Garnish: Sprinkled cinnamon and cinnamon stick
