July 31, 2019 – In celebration of National Oyster Day on MondayAugust 5, the below restaurants and bars are offering shucking-ly good deals on select oyster dishes.

With options such as Oyster Granita from Ocean Prime, Fried Oyster Basques from Townsend, and oysters on the half-shell from Urban Farmer, there’s an oyster dish for everyone to enjoy.

Ocean Prime, Center City’s most gorgeous seafood restaurant and steakhouse, is offering Oyster Granita for half-off on National Oyster Day. Guests can enjoy six succulent oysters topped with a lemon and Tabasco frozen granita, for $11.50 on National Oyster Day, as well as Fridays from 4:30 to 6 pm. During the rest of the week, the Oyster Granita is $23.

Royal Boucherie, Old City’s lively American brasserie from award-winning chef Nicolas Elmi, is celebrating the day with a trio of specials sure to please any oyster-lover.

  • A dozen oysters and split of Domaine Laurier Methode Champenoise for $30
  • Bucket of six, 12oz bottles of Miller High Life with a dozen oysters for $30
  • Five oysters covered in crunchy cornmeal (GF) with house-made remoulade for $6, available at the bar starting at 5pm

Townsend, the eponymous French restaurant from Chef Townsend Wentz, is offering Sweet Jesus Oysters on the half-shell with Champagne Mignonette at $3 per oyster, up to a dozen, as well as Fried Oyster ‘Basquaise’ at $4.50 per oyster. Guests can pair their oysters with a glass of Victorine De Chastenay Crémant De Bourgogne at half price ($7.50).

Urban Farmer, the modern American steakhouse located off Logan Square, is offering East Coast and West Coast Oysters on the half-shell for $3.75 each with lemon and mignonette. The East Coast Oysters are from Topping, Virginia and are deep cup, mineral rich oysters with a slight salinity and a sweet and buttery meat. The West Coast Oysters are from Hadlock, Washington, and are fed on cold waters welled up from deep in the Pacific, giving a sweet, but very briny, flavor profile.
