2 November 2018- British GQ recently published its list of must visit places around Philadelphia. Our friends over at Townsend, Royal Boucherie, and Urban Farmer made the exclusive list.

Townsend

The French-inspired restaurant situated on East Passyunk Avenue was acknowledged for its decadent menu that makes the Uber ride worth it. The ever expansive wine list was also touched upon along with winning the 2015 fourth-best bar in Philadelphia.

“The menu at Townsend is an intriguing sliver of sophistication in the sprawling row homes of South Philly.”

Royal Boucherie

The French-inspired raw bar and charcuterie was recognized for its lively, but also romantic atmosphere along with its bevy of drinks.

“The run of S 2nd Street between Market and Chestnut Street is a lively destination on a Friday or Saturday night and if you can’t decide whether to start with dinner or drinks, get a reservation at Royal Boucherie and experience the best of both in one romantically lit premises.”

52 S 2nd St, Philadelphia, PA 19106

Urban Farmer

The farm-to-table steakhouse struck GQ editors with the kitchen’s close relationship to a list of local farmers, ranchers, and fisheries. Urban Farmer was praised for the robust flavors in every dish.

“Our steak, ordered with a side of creamed spinach gratin (again, share if necessary), was confident in its flavours and prepared without undue fanfare. The theatrics are reserved for the desserts, and the goats’ cheese cheesecake ($10) we finished with was striking on the plate and striking on the palate.”
