10 August 2017 – Women make up 25 percent of the workforce in the brewing industry. The Pink Boots Society’s mission was created to assist, inspire, and encourage women beer industry professionals to advance their careers through education. ln collaboration with the UScience Brewing science program, The Philadelphia Chapter of Pink Boots Society will be hosting their first Annual Women in Brewing Symposium on August 20th from 11am-4:30 pm at the University of the Science in University City, Philadelphia, PA. Some topics of discussion include key issues for women in the brewing industry. Following will be a discussion panel from several expert women in the industry moderated by beer journalist, Tara Nurin. Keynote presentation will be Megan Parisi from the Boston Beer Company. This event is open to women and men who support their cause. All proceeds from this event will benefit women in their career advancement and also help support the society’s educational scholarships.
