When three of Philadelphia’s most talented brewers are also friends with brewpubs located within four miles of each other, collaboration is inevitable. The three men, Paul Rutherford of Iron Hill Brewery Chestnut Hill, Scott Morrison of Barren Hill Tavern & Brewery, and Tom Baker of Earth Bread & Brewery, have dubbed themselves the “Germantown Avenue Brewers Cartel”

On September 20th, the Cartel is providing beer enthusiasts a shuttle bus to take them to and from each brewpub to enjoy three 12oz, one-of-a-kind brews made especially for the occasion – all for just $20. Each patron will receive a ticket to take with them to each stop where bartenders then stamp tickets for their allotted 12oz pour. Patrons may purchase additional Cartel beers at a discounted price. The brewer will also be available to answer questions and provide insight into their brewing experiences.

Each head brewer temporarily left their home digs to do a collaborative brew at their fellow Cartel member’s brewery. Paul Rutherford of Iron Hill went to Earth Bread & Brewery to brew a Cherry Berliner Weisse. Likewise, Scott Morrison of Barren Hill took over at Iron Hill to make a batch of Buckwheat Honey Saison and Tom Baker of Earth Bread & Brewery opened shop in Barren Hill and came out with a Biere de Garde made with sorrel and arugula.

Tickets can be purchase at each brewpub location or ordered online here through www.Eventbrite.com
